The name of Feldespat is derived from Germany word "Feldspar" which is equal to the word "Field stone" in English. "Spar" means an ore in light color and it has very soft weathering products.
For a long time, weathering products of Feldspars i.e. Kaolin, have been used and gradually Feldspars were entered to ceramic, clay and glass industries. Iranian artisans were familiar to Feldspars application and to its dissolution products and they have used them in producing Clay, Ceramic, enamel and glass. This industry, which has old history in Iran, typically has developed on areas where Feldspars has occurred and clay and ceramics have obtained from achieved digging in HEGMATANEH and Tos cities, certainly its primary materials have provided from neighbor regions. Iranian artisans have been familiar to this subject completely.

Feldspars have a close relationship with each others from the point of shape and physical properties view. So, they are classified to 3 groups which are: Calcite, Potasic and Sodic.
Potassium Feldspars are monoclinic symmetry. Potassium Feldspars ores are formed in many shapes and they have different physical and optical properties.
Sodium and Calcium Feldspars (plague classes) have triclinic symmetry.
Generally, typical consumer industries of Feldspars group ores are : glass industries ( vitrify factures, fiber glass ) , Ceramic industries ( ceramic body , tile, sanitary porcelain ,…) enamel, fillers , scratches and welding electrodes.
Major part of feldspar group ores is used in ceramic and glass industry.
